Project time!

I love to create, build, sew, paint, and do anything that involves working with my hands, and a little elbow grease... and Jesse loves to pay for it! Here are a few of my latest projects. I'm not sure why this is in hyperlink, but it just is.
My latest project was the Joseph Smith tribute quilt. Every block represented a different part of his life, and his legacy. It was fun project, and I learned alot. Every block came with a short history, and symbolism. Thats why nothing matches, each block needed to be a specific color and "feel" so the quilt was really ecclectic. Which I enjoyed. I stippled the entire thing... it made it look aged. Thanks Mama Tucker for coming up with this wonderful project for us!

And this happens to be my current project, the picture is not the one that I am making, because I'm not quite done yet.... to be honest, I haven't even started. Well except for buying the saw, and blowing up the free pattern from online. But I just love heirloom rocking horses! I am making one out of pine wood for my little Lyla's first birthday. I'm not sure when it will get finished, soon hopefully. And hopefully it is sturdy enough to last through lots of love from all my children to be!

Our Spring Break

Sleeping! We did lots of this. But the cutest thing about this picture is that Lyla had been playing hard all day, and usually she doesn't fall asleep by herself, but I just laid her down next to Jesse, and Voila! She was so tuckered out. And if you look close, you'll see that she is holding onto Jesse's shorts. Lately she has been doing a lot of that kind of thing, making sure she is holding on to you or your clothes when she is asleep next to you. It is her way of trying to prevent you from leaving her. So cute!
We also spent lots of time and Grandma and Gramdpa's house! She loved their dog Skipper, and stood at the door any chance she got. And when she was outside, she and Skipper spent lots of time together. That dog is usually wired, but around Lyla, he was just the right amount of perky, so she loved playing with him.

We also went to a wedding. Jesse's cousin Jordan married a great girl named Sarah (don't know the last name). It was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the grass was green and soft, but I decided to post this picture to show you how enthralled Lyla was with the whole ordeal of waiting around for picture taking... just kidding!

Spring is my favorite time of year! I can't wait for Easter. It is such a wonderful holiday, and I love celebrating rebirth and new life, and the resurrection of Christ. Happy Springtime!
