An Effort At Happy

This week was supposed to be the week that we got to move into our new house. Unfortunately, some people dropped the ball, and instead of moving in, we are stuck where we are at for another week. I was so excited, and now I'm so deflated. Closing isn't till Friday, keys don't get to us till Monday, but guess what?? We aren't going to be here Monday, we will be in Utah at a family reunion. So instead of coming home to a nice house of our own, we will be coming home to Jesse's parents house. And the spare bedroom we have been in for a couple weeks needs to be empty so his brother and his family can stay in it. They are coming from Canada, and they have 3 kids... so they definately get precidence while they visit. So we are homeless, and roomless, and I'm sad. So sad that I have been crying.... probably due to pregnancy hormones, but none the less they were real tears. So instead of crying some more, I am reminding myself and everyone else of all the things that made me happy this week.

I love puzzles, and I hadn't done one since before Lyla was born.
Jesse and I put this puzzle together on Wednesday night, all in one
sitting! It was so fun, and we had such a good time together
Our 2 newest chickens started to lay this week! Which is fun
in itself, but to top it off, this morning I got a double yoker for
breakfast! For those of you that don't know what that is, it is one egg
with 2 yolks. The 2 small ones on top are from the double,
and the one below it is just a normal egg. This rarely happens with
store bought eggs. Just a little suprise that made me smile!

Tuesday I got an ultrasound to pinpoint my due date. January 8th.
It was so fun to meet Tucker #2. That baby is a mover. There
were lots of cute pictures were it was just snuggled up in a fetal
position, but then the baby started to jump up into the fluid, float down
to the wall, and slide down the wall. The baby did this several
times, and looked like it was thoroughly enjoying it's new game!
Here is a picture of the baby "kicking off ", if you look close
you can see one leg kicking off, and one in the back floating in the air.

And if all else fails to make us happy, we eat chocolate chips!
So that is what lyla and I did today. Although I posted the wrong pic.
I was trying to post the cheeseball smile with chocolate oozing
out her mouth and teeth. It was adorable, and definately made
me smile... which I really needed.
So I guess I shouldn't be sad, because there are so many little blessings in my life that make me smile everyday. So I'll put the tears away for some future use where they are really needed. So for now, I'll try for happy : )

With so much time on my hands...

... my hands have been busy!

Lyla and I had worn out our old diaper bag... extremely. So we decided to make a new one! This was from an online pattern I found. Super easy and very cute. One draw back... much smaller in real life than it looks online. Bummer. But it is still fun, and I made a baby sling to match it. Lyla loves to be held and cuddled still, and now that I'm expecting she seems five times heavier... so the hip carry in the sling is a huge life saver for me!

I also ran into some key limes at my mother-in-laws... and they were begging to go into a delicious pie! This pie was quite delicious, even Jesse (who doesn't like sweets) ate two slices. I kind of frankensteined a few recipies from online, but it turned out great, and the meringue was so pretty, and didn't even shrink that much... in fact it kinda grew while cooking! That's a first!

And lastly these are not my hands, but that of my sweet girl! She kept herself very busy while I made my pie... she learned to climb onto chairs and into drawers all the while I was whipping up a pie. She truely learns at lightning speed all the sudden. She was even "putting" together a wooden puzzle on the floor. That consisted of taking all the pieces off, and then piling them all back on the board... not neccesarily in the spot they go.

Can Lyla and I just say... WE LOVE NO SCHOOL!

So big....

We celebrated 2 years of life, love and laughter on May 31, 2010! So for our 2nd Anniversary we took the day to go on a Biosphere 2 tour. I wish I would have gotten more pictures, it was so cool! I highly recommend it to anyone, although do be aware of the fact that the tour is 2 and 1/2 hours long! And it can get hot. But we had lots of fun, and Lyla even enjoyed it too, especially the echo chamber.
In the past few days Lyla has really blossomed! She has all kinds of new tricks, and I thought I would share them here. We have really enjoyed seeing her grow up.

1. She is taking one long nap a day... about 2 hours.

2. She learned to draw! I wish I had a picture to post, maybe next time. She loves to color, and everytime she sees a pencil and paper, she quickly grabs it to doodle.

3. She loves to look at Papa Tuckers Aquarium... she can sit there forever pointing at the fish.

4. She has taken to wearing a tonka toy tire tread around her neck, so we thought just maybe...

5. ... She was ready for her first necklace! So we went and got her some really cute beads at Wal-Mart. She still prefers the tire tread, maybe the necklace just takes some getting used to.

6. And the biggest thing of all, she learned to watch TV! This is not a good thing. I am not a big fan of TV, but now that she is interested it helps if I have to wash dishes or something... I hope I don't take too much advantage of it. But she loves to sit in her car seat and relax, and get up to sing and dance when a song comes on... too cute!
