Elmo

Spencer really likes one video we have, it is called Kids Favorite Songs.  It is made by sesame street.  His favorite song on there is one that Elmo has made up.  So we sing this song in the car a LOT!

We also bought him a sesame street coloring book not too long back.  The other day he was hugging the coloring book.  And he said: "I love Elmo very much!"  So I asked him "do you love mommy very much?" and he said yes.  So I asked him "do you love mommy as much as Elmo?"  To which he responded that he did.  It was fun, so I kept going, "do you love daddy very much?" He answered yes... so I went on, "do you love daddy as much as mommy?"  To which he emphatically answered, NO!, accompanied by a head shake.

Jesse and I almost died laughing.  I love my Spencer boy! I can't believe he is almost 2!  But lets not get any crazy ideas, Daddy is Spencer's main man.  He idolizes his dad, and it is adorable. One day he will grow up to be an amazing man.  But for now, I just like that I get to hug him and squeeze him, and call him mine!

TOFW

This weekend I went to Time Out for Women in Phoenix.  Not really a full time out since I brought my nursing baby.  It was amazing! So I just wanted to share my favorite nugget of inspiration:

God does not want cookie cutter women. Find your most authentic self and live it.

Neat, huh? I just loved that idea.  And the Holy Ghost testified to me that I need to accept others authenticity, even if it differs from my own.  I am not ashamed to admit my biggest fault: I judge others. And that needs to stop! We are all beautiful, talented creatures, but we are all different... And that's ok. No need to envy Sally for her fabulous, voluminous hair.... Or Betty for her super tight abs, or Margret for her amazingly fluffy homemade bread.  Enjoy her talents, and realize you have different ones.

Dr. Sues had it right, it's truer than true, nobody can be youer than you! So go live your most authentic self! And God will empower you as you do!
