Who Needs a Maid...

....when you have one of these?

Lyla picking up my staples as I rip
them out to reupholster some barstools
Scrubbing the tub, after vigorously scrubbing herself

Swifftering the kitchen, after the kitchen she moves
on to the entry way, and I don't even have to ask!

Picking weeds in the backyard
She even folds the laundry!

I love my little copycat... now if I can just get her to say her prayers, read her scriptures, and fix dinner we will be headed in the right direction!

Just Like Daddy

Not only did she get his good looks,
but she also got his amazing speed
and accuracy with a 10-key!

I am astonished at how fast she is growing up... she already looks like a big girl.
I just love her!

Home... Sweet Home!

This post is dedicated to Laurie Colvin. A wonderful woman, with great taste! She practically furnished all the decorations in my house. Laurie, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Love you.

These pictures are all out of order, but bear with me. Lets start with the backyard shall we... here is the side view, and it keeps wrapping around until the front...

Next, is the rest of the back yard and the porch... we did not order a pond, but the monsoons felt inclined to leave us with one.

And here is the font... if you can't tell the shutters are purple...cool huh?

And my most favorite room of the house...my sewing room! Okay it is not my favorite, but will we be one I spend quite a bit of time in : )

This room is actually my favorite. And I will tell you why. It is the Lyla's sleep room/ guest room. I wanted to hang one thing in there, the picture you see of the little girl and goat, which came from my mother, who found it at an antique store. She said it reminds her of me, and I just love the picture to death. Well turns out Laurie gave me a comforter and sheet set that pulled out all the colors of the photo! Match made in heaven. The room is yellows and greens with hints of pink! I love it, it just feels good in there!

Here is the sweet nursery/ playroom that unfortunately for me, no child of mine will ever sleep in... ahh the joys of babies! But Lyla does love to play in here, and she will spend time sitting on the miniature rocking chair (you can't see in pic) and read to herself... adorable!

And the master bedroom.

The nice wide hall leading to the office, which is Jesse's domain. The licsence plate on the frame of the walkway used to be on his old toyota truck, the day after we got unofficially engaged (1/13/2008), we realized that it said HER: 113, ironic? Sowe kept it for memories sake!

Now this is the front bath, and my dear mother let me drag her all around town until I found a curtain and towels that matched my countertop... I know I'm a bit crazy. But hey, it turned out so beautiful, and my mother still loves me despite my excentricities : ) I think.

Here is the family room, we have to rearrange, because today my aunt Toni is giving us her old piano! yipee. No, I can't play, but I plan on learning!

And here is the dining room. Yes, I have two tables. We got the small one for our wedding, and had never opened it because we lived in a furnished apartment, when we moved here we soon realized we had outgrown it already. So I found this larger table for free on craigslist. It came without chairs. Good thing Jesse and I owned these fancy green folding camp chairs, courtesy of mom and dad Clayton. But I did find something to do with the small one, it is going to Tyler, Jesse's best friend, as he is starting med school soon and is moving to his new apartment today, and lucky for me, he didn't have a table!

And here is my KITCHEN! I spend all my time in here and I love it! Again, thank you Laurie for the rooster decor, it matches so perfectly with the colors in there. Infact I even bought some hand towels and hot pads with roosters on them. So beautiful, I love my kitchen!

Well that is my house. I guess living in 390 square feet paid off. And even though the drive to town is 20 minutes... I love it out here. Both my front and rear view are of mountains, and when it rains out here it smells so good. And besides the neighbors mastiff, pitbull, mutt and chahuahua, it is pretty quiet out here.

Finally!

We are all moved into our new house. We even have everything unpacked! But I must confess, moving is a lot of work. And it is inconvenient. I realized how much stuff I didn't own... so we stalked craigslist for a few days, and came out with some pretty amazing steals! And we had to go without internet for a few days, but now it is up and running, and pictures will be sure to follow. Probably tomorrow, because the car is getting fixed, and the truck will be in the shop for its 75,000 mile service maintenance... which leaves me 20 minutes from town, stuck at home. Which is where I prefer to be anyways, but since everything is practically done around here, I will have some free time to blog... that is if I can get the computer to cooperate. We are having technical difficulties with our only laptop. Thank goodness Jesse brings home his work computer every day!
