Our Spring Break

Sleeping! We did lots of this. But the cutest thing about this picture is that Lyla had been playing hard all day, and usually she doesn't fall asleep by herself, but I just laid her down next to Jesse, and Voila! She was so tuckered out. And if you look close, you'll see that she is holding onto Jesse's shorts. Lately she has been doing a lot of that kind of thing, making sure she is holding on to you or your clothes when she is asleep next to you. It is her way of trying to prevent you from leaving her. So cute!
We also spent lots of time and Grandma and Gramdpa's house! She loved their dog Skipper, and stood at the door any chance she got. And when she was outside, she and Skipper spent lots of time together. That dog is usually wired, but around Lyla, he was just the right amount of perky, so she loved playing with him.

We also went to a wedding. Jesse's cousin Jordan married a great girl named Sarah (don't know the last name). It was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the grass was green and soft, but I decided to post this picture to show you how enthralled Lyla was with the whole ordeal of waiting around for picture taking... just kidding!
Spring is my favorite time of year! I can't wait for Easter. It is such a wonderful holiday, and I love celebrating rebirth and new life, and the resurrection of Christ. Happy Springtime!

Just some pictures

Jesse and I decided to go on a date to play tennis. Of course Lyla came along. She had a blast. Mostly eating the leaves on the court... yum! And we just had to post her swinging. She thought it was the best.
And this is a testament of my good cookin'! Well, at least Lyla liked it. But to tell the truth, it was just mac n' cheese with some spaghetti sauce mixed in. Not so exciting as she makes it look.

Monday, January 25, 2010

So, in typical Tucker fashion, I have let this blog sit untouched. But before the month slips past, I thought I would squeeze in a good January post.

And what do we all do in January. Resolve to do all those things we know we should be doing but aren't. Well this year I just decided to skip the nonsense and be honest with myself, New Years resolutions would be futile!

But to ring the new decade in, I wouldn't say we are without purpose, or progression. Contrare. We are acutally both in our last semester at school! We are raising a great little girl. We are both serving in callings that take more extra time than we thought we had. We are building a new house. And we are surviving life. So we might not have made a shiny list of all that we wish to accomplish in 2010. And yet, we will be accomplishing so much!

Here's to a Happy, and Healthy 2010, regardless 0f if you made resolutions.

A Festival of Light

We ventured over to Winterhaven last Friday to see the "Festival of Lights" that is put on every year, which is also a fundraiser for the Community Food Bank. We took our cans, bundled up the baby, and braved the cold. It was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing all the diversity of celebration. But I loved seeing the houses with big Nativities out front. How great it is to see people celebrating the true Christmas. I really liked what President Monson said about dropping the ending of The spirit of Christmas, and what everyone really is feeling around the holiday season is the The Spirit of Christ. We are so blessed to have a knowledge of our Redeemer and Savior. We are so blessed to know that families are forever. We are blessed to know that God knows and loves each one of us. We are blessed to know that we can repent and be forgiven. We are blessed to know that Christ lives and is the Light of the world, and through him we are able to know these things. Christmas is a festival of Light... in which we can celebrate the knowledge we have of Christ, and feel of His spirit more abundantly.

Lyla loved looking at all the Lights! See those big eyes. We couldn't even get her to look at the camera

Here is our little Christmas tree that we rescued. It looks pretty now, but at the DI the poor thing looked like it had leprosy... limbs falling off everywhere.

My little Elf thinks she is so sneaky, but I caught her trying to catch a peak at her presents!

Now that the weather is so wonderful, Lyla loves to go on walks... any chance she can get! This is us walking to the donut shop early last Thursday, to surprise dad with donuts when he woke up. We just had to celebrate "Dead Day" with donuts!
